A study by Arkose Labs found that 73% of internet traffic to websites and applications between January and September 2023 was generated by malicious bots, with the data drawn from the company's Global Intelligence Network. The top bot attack types in Q3 2023 were account takeovers, data scraping, fake account creation, account management and in-product abuse — with in-product abuse displacing card testing from the prior quarter. The findings point to a dramatic resource drain on businesses that are under sustained automated attack.
